Final Weekly Journal

The e-business group showed an remarkabble good work in both teamwork and the progress on the the last week of the event. In addition, many problems happened in that week and the teams were working hard to solve these problems. Confirming participants was the hardest part in that week, because there were not enough responds and participents. The teams did an outstanding job in drawing the outline of the world map without professional help in the cricket field. However the was some mistakes in preparing for the event day, but most of these mistakes were because of an uncontrolable factors. one of these problems was that the team that was supervising the foundation participents did not confirm with foundation supervisor to make sure that he will never change his mind or forget what is needed from him. Another problem is that there was no enough budgets for the backup plan because they didn’t expect that they will need to shift to plan B, also the helicopter problem was an unexpected problem because it was confirmed until the last hour and suddenly cancelled which is really difficult to solve the problem. In my point of view the main problem was the poor communications between teachers and also between the groups.

Supply chain management (SCM) It is the interconnected business Management involved in the ultimate provision of product and service packages required by end customers (Harland, 1996). Supply Chain Management spans all movement and storage of raw materials, work-in-process inventory, and finished goods from point of origin to point of consumption (supply chain).Another definition is provided by the APICS Dictionary when it defines SCM as the "design, planning, execution, control, and monitoring of supply chain activities with the objective of creating net value, building a competitive infrastructure, leveraging worldwide logistics, synchronizing supply with demand, and measuring performance globally."  What is Supply chain management used for,One of the uses of Supply chain management is to address the following problems:§  Distribution Network Configuration: number, location and network missions of suppliers, production facilities, distribution centers, warehouses, cross-docks and customers.§  Distribution Strategy: questions of operating control (centralized, decentralized or shared); delivery scheme, e.g., direct shipment, pool point shipping, cross docking, DSD (direct store delivery), closed loop shipping; mode of transportation, e.g., motor carrier, including truckload, LTL, parcel; railroad; intermodal transport, including TOFC (trailer on flatcar) and COFC (container on flatcar); ocean freight; airfreight; replenishment strategy (e.g., pull, push or hybrid); and transportation control (e.g., owner-operated, private carrier, common carrier, contract carrier, or 3PL).§  Trade-Offs in Logistical Activities: The above activities must be well coordinated in order to achieve the lowest total logistics cost. Trade-offs may increase the total cost if only one of the activities is optimized. For example, full truckload (FTL) rates are more economical on a cost per pallet basis than less than truckload (LTL) shipments. If, however, a full truckload of a product is ordered to reduce transportation costs, there will be an increase in inventory holding costs which may increase total logistics costs. It is therefore imperative to take a systems approach when planning logistical activities. These trade-offs are key to developing the most efficient and effective Logistics and SCM strategy.§  Information: Integration of processes through the supply chain to share valuable information, including demand signals, forecasts, inventory, transportation, potential collaboration, etc.§  Inventory Management: Quantity and location of inventory, including raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods.§  Cash-Flow: Arranging the payment terms and methodologies for exchanging funds across entities within the supply chain.Supply chain execution means managing and coordinating the movement of materials, information and funds across the supply chain. The flow is bi-directional.  Activities/functions of Supply chain management are other uses of the chain management , it is a cross-function approach including managing the movement of raw materials into an organization, certain aspects of the internal processing of materials into finished goods, and the movement of finished goods out of the organization and toward the end-consumer. As organizations strive to focus on core competencies and becoming more flexible, they reduce their ownership of raw materials sources and distribution channels. These functions are increasingly being outsourced to other entities that can perform the activities better or more cost effectively. The effect is to increase the number of organizations involved in satisfying customer demand, while reducing management control of daily logistics operations. Less control and more supply chain partners led to the creation of supply chain management concepts. The purpose of supply chain management is to improve trust and collaboration among supply chain partners, thus improving inventory visibility and the velocity of inventory movement.Several models have been proposed for understanding the activities required to manage material movements across organizational and functional boundaries. SCOR is a supply chain management model promoted by the Supply Chain Council. Another model is the SCM Model proposed by the Global Supply Chain Forum (GSCF). Supply chain activities can be grouped into strategic, tactical, and operational levels . The CSCMP has adopted The American Productivity & Quality Center (APQC) Process Classification FrameworkSM a high-level, industry-neutral enterprise process model that allows organizations to see their business processes from a cross-industry viewpoint[4].The  Supply chain management functions are categorized in three parts which are:1.    Strategic§  Strategic network optimization, including the number, location, and size of warehousing, distribution centers, and facilities.§  Strategic partnerships with suppliers, distributors, and customers, creating communication channels for critical information and operational improvements such as cross docking, direct shipping, and third-party logistics..§  Product life cycle management, so that new and existing products can be optimally integrated into the supply chain and capacity management activities.§  [[Information technoloy chain operations.§  Where-to-make and what-to-make-or-buy decisions.§  Aligning overall organizational strategy with supply strategy.§  It is for long term and needs resource comittement. 1.    Tactical§  Sourcing contracts and other purchasing decisions.§  Production decisions, including contracting, scheduling, and planning process definition.§  Inventory decisions, including quantity, location, and quality of inventory.§  Transportation strategy, including frequency, routes, and contracting.§  Benchmarking of all operations against competitors and implementation of best practices throughout the enterprise.§  Milestone payments.§  Focus on customer demand. 1.    Operational§  Daily production and distribution planning, including all nodes in the supply chain.§  Production scheduling for each manufacturing facility in the supply chain (minute by minute).§  Demand planning and forecasting, coordinating the demand forecast of all customers and sharing the forecast with all suppliers.§  Sourcing planning, including current inventory and forecast demand, in collaboration with all suppliers.§  Inbound operations, including transportation from suppliers and receiving inventory.§  Production operations, including the consumption of materials and flow of finished goods.§  Outbound operations, including all fulfillment activities, warehousing and transportation to customers.§  Order promising, accounting for all constraints in the supply chain, including all suppliers, manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, and other customers.

1.      In opposition to making general pages detailing all of your “services” or “products,” create an individual page on your site for each product and service.2.      Because you likely sell products on your site, name all of the images of your products with the product name and include a keyword-centric “alt tag.” More info on this can be found on our Universal Search Chart.3.      Make sure the name of the main product you sell is included in your website title tag. Instead of just having your Company Name in your title tag, reformat your title tag as “Target Product | Company Name.”4.      List actual keyword phrases in your keywords meta data. Instead of having your keywords include terms like “plastic, packaging, supplier” - list “plastic packaging supplier” as a keyword.5.      Make sure all your links work. In our audit of “plastic packaging” websites, about 80% of the websites we reviewed had broken links. Google Webmaster Guidelines clearly state that broken links on pages are a no-no. If Google says not to do something, you probably shouldn’t do it.6.      Utilize “page rank sculpting.” Take the authority your homepage has in Google and put it to good use. Funnel link authority to the most important pages on your site - “nofollow” links to pages like your Privacy Policy and Contact Us page.7.      Build links. Perhaps you can consult “Link Building 101” for some tips on link building.8.      Find your company’s best copywriter and have them start blogging or writing articles about your company’s products.9.      Update the content on your site regularly. Search engines like fresh, updated content because it is more relevant to what searchers are looking for at that particular moment. This is becoming more important as the search engines compete with sites like Twitter and, well… mostly just Twitter.10. Submit your corporate press releases to a major web-based PR distribution service.

Modern sience and technology has given a new way for people from tourists to citivens to look at stores, what kind they are, what do they offer, what do they have, and even comments of people about the store, by just using an application that can be installed into phones, this technology is known as “Augmented Reality”. This technology helps people to look at not only stores but also allows them to see people who also have the same application, and if those people want show that they are members of a certain club or site. This gives an advantage to a lot of businesses, as they can also use this application to see what people have commented about them, from those comments they can improve or even make better of their current services or so. Moreover, the internet will play a huge role in marketing the busnesses as the internet users grow by the minute, the people’s interests will guide them to search the web for shops, which will most propably attract customers to the business and make it grow and incrsess its overall profit.

First of all, Google AdWords is a software and service that google offers to its businesses to help them adv to a specific type of people on its search engine by including a keyword in the search to trigger the adv to come up and to make give the right adv to the right people. Second of all and finally, Google AdSense is allowing a person to look for title of sites or blogs through a specific keywork or sentence. the difference betwwen Google AdWords & Google AdSense, is that google AdWords is about triggering adv’s while google AdSense is about getting specific titles or so, while they both use mainly the same idea but for two different goalsBy using these methods the Date Farm will grow by a minimum of 40% as people from all over the world will be able to buy from the net, moreover, they can use dates for many things from buying them for yourself or sending them as gifts to friends or people.   The Keywords for the Date Farm will be:·        Dates·        Farms·        Sweet gifts·        Arabic naturel food·        Different GiftsThose Keywords are best for the date farm as they are abit unique yet narrow down the search for the date farm adv to pop-up.

What are the main components of developing a website?

Website development is a product of numerous contributions by individuals, corporations, and technologies and it requires  an evolving explanation. It uses aspects of Web design that is one example of a Web application which complete Web development and effects changes made to the Internet. These efforts modify the elements of developmental aspects. The process carries the combination of chronology while adapting and incorporating the changing applications of contributions at the same time.

Creating a website needs a base platform that exits from different computer languages that can range from HTML, XML, ASP, and PHP. These languages may support programs or software like JavaScript, CGI, FLASH, RSS, or ZEND OPTIMIZER, that increase the level of dynamic capabilities within a given website. The technical parts contains degrees of creativity thats appropriate to the applications of technologies and content. The integration of the produced document (website) with hosting and an assigned IP (IP address) which makes it easy to access.

developing of a website includes the documental production aspect of a website while incorporating legitimate processes of search engine optimization, marketing, and business. Percentages of these applications are used by personal, commercial, and educational platforms.

Search Engine Optimization is a detailed process that makes a great effort to return favorable search term results in search engines and increases the access of information in a website. Marketing is an element implementing the distribution and retrieval of information, products, services, or goods. Ranging from product to commercial definitions, Business contributes to a summary of website development. Tools and resources are critical means including elements which involves website development.

Linux as a server software :

Linux is a term relating to a class of  Unix-like computer operating systems based on the Linux kernel. Their development is one of the most famous and important  examples of free and open source software collaboration , typically all the underlying source code can be used, freely modified, and redistributed, both commercially and non-commercially, by anyone under licenses such as the GNU GPL.

Linux is mainly used in servers and its famous for it, even though linux can be installed on a wide variety of computer hardware, from embedded devices, such as mobile phones and even some watches to mainframes and supercomputers.

linux distribution is increasing with high rate through recent years it is being installed on both desktop and laptop computers

With AJAX, web applications can retrieve data from the server asynchronously in the background without interfering with the display and behavior of the existing page. The use of AJAX techniques has led to an increase in interactive or dynamic interfaces on web pages[2][3] and better quality of Web services due to the asynchronous mode. Data is usually retrieved using the XMLHttpRequest object. Despite the name, the use of JavaScript and XML is not actually required, nor do the requests need to be asynchronous.[4]  ASP is a Three-letter acrnym with numerous meanings in different contexts.
